Maschinenfabrik Niehoff headquartered near Nuremberg, Germany, develops and builds machinery for the production of non-ferrous wires, insulated data cables and special cables and offers a comprehensive service range. The family-owned company was established in 1951, but its origins date back to 1859.
The Niehoff Group is comprised of its headquarters, six manufacturing subsidiaries (in the US, Brazil, the Czech Republic, India, China, and Sweden) as well as sales and service centers in Japan, Singapore and Russia and has over 850 employees worldwide.
On display: a D 562 type double twist bunching machine ideally suited for the manufacture of strands of copper alloy wires for automotive wires.
The machine is designed to produce strands with 0.055 to 2.5 mm² cross section and a steplessly variable lay length of 2 to 60 mm. The maximum number of twists is 7,000 twists/min, the maximum speed 200 m/min.
A further feature is the opto-electronic NBAT system (Niehoff Bunching Automatic Traverse) which allows spools to be perfectly spooled. Spooled wire can be payed-off tangle-free at high speeds with no damage. Other features are an energy-class IE3 energy-saving rotor drive, an adjustable fan drive in the sound proof cabin, the energy-saving single bow (ECO-Bow) design, the contactless transmission of machine data within the machine and the NMI (Niehoff Machine Interface) touch-screen display with color user interface and simplified navigation structure. Sensors enable machine data to be recorded and analyzed according to Industry 4.0.
